Cash payments could cost small businesses August 28, 2014

Online financial service PayPal has released data from a poll on 500 cash-taking businesses, revealing the cost of working on a cash basis. New ISA introduction leads to rise in savings deposits August 28, 2014

July saw a significant rise in savings deposits, following the introduction of the New Individual Savings Account (Nisa) rules, according to a report from the British Bankers’ Association. R&D tax credit claims reach record levels for SMEs August 21, 2014

There were 13,010 claims for research and development tax relief under the SME scheme in 2012/13 – up 30% from the previous year and the largest number since the scheme was introduced in 2000 – according to official HMRC figures. Four million still not automatically enrolled August 21, 2014

A report by the Pensions Regulator shows that 4,443,000 workers have not yet been enrolled in a workplace pension scheme. Auto-enrolment has so far been rolled out to over four million individuals, while almost nine million were already members of a qualifying scheme. Figures show gender pay gap remains wide August 21, 2014

Female bosses continue to earn up to 35% less than male counterparts, according to new figures from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Four decades after the Equal Pay Act made it illegal for women to receive less-favourable pay, the average pay gap for between men and women aged 46 to 60 is £16,680 per year.
